Paediactric First Aid

Our Paediatric First Aid (Full) training course provides comprehensive first aid training for those working with infants and young children, meeting the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted. This in-depth course ensures learners are fully prepared to handle both emergency and non-emergency situations.

Ideal for nursery staff, childminders, early years practitioners, nannies and teachers, the course covers a wide range of paediatric first aid topics, including CPR and AED use, choking, unconsciousness, illnesses, injuries and safeguarding awareness. Training is practical, engaging and delivered by experienced instructors.

What will you learn?

Course Content:

  • Understand EYFS and Ofsted first aid requirements and the responsibilities of a paediatric first aider

  • Assess situations and provide emergency and non-emergency first aid to infants and children

  • Administer paediatric CPR and use an AED safely and effectively

  • Manage choking, unconsciousness and breathing difficulties

  • Treat wounds, bleeding, burns, scalds, fractures and head injuries

  • Recognise and respond to common childhood illnesses, including fever and seizures

  • Identify and manage allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, including medication awareness

  • Record and report incidents accurately in line with EYFS record-keeping requirements

  • Promote a safe and healthy childcare environment
